KoH T-Denim Care Book

[Denim Care Book]

If possible, it would be better to take care of it at home so that you can wear it for a long time and in good condition.
Rather than having it cleaned once every few years, we recommend taking care of it yourself regularly.
For casual use, you can put it in a laundry net and wash it in the washing machine. However, there is a way to maintain it for longer without damaging it.

All you need is a sponge, soap, and detergent for delicates. However, make sure the sponge is non-abrasive, as using an abrasive sponge can damage your clothes.

We recommend using a sponge to remove dirt or using a shower to wash the surface. Be gentle and don't scrub too hard. Also, cotton is hard to dry once it absorbs moisture, so try not to soak it in water too much and wash quickly, focusing on removing only the dirt on the surface.
If you clean especially dirty areas, such as the back of the collar and cuffs, at the end of the season, you can prevent discoloration.

1. Check for dirt

First, check carefully where the dirt is. By knowing where the dirt is, you can avoid unnecessarily damaging the material. Check carefully not only the area around the neck where sweat tends to accumulate, but also the pockets, front buttons and zippers, sleeves and hems, which are often touched by hands, as they are prone to getting dirty.

2. Wet the stained area with a sponge

To prepare the area before washing, wet the dirty areas with a sponge soaked in water.

3. Apply soap directly to the dirty area

Soap is the most effective way to remove dark stains. Apply soap evenly to the garment before washing with a sponge. Before washing the entire garment, use a sponge to pinpoint and scrub particularly stubborn stains, such as on the back of the collar. The key to removing cotton is to scrub quickly and quickly.

4. Soak a sponge in diluted neutral detergent and scrub the entire surface.

Water is fine, but if possible, dissolve about half a teaspoon of neutral detergent in 1L of lukewarm water and soak a sponge in it. Wash the entire surface with it, but be careful not to use too much pressure, and focus on stroking the surface.

5. Don't forget to wash the inside

The inside is less likely to get dirty than the surface, but if you wear it for a season it will pick up a fair amount of sweat and dirt, so be sure to wash it thoroughly.

6. Rinse with lukewarm water

After washing, rinse lightly with lukewarm water or water until all the bubbles on the surface are gone.

7. Drain in the washing machine

From here, dehydrate for 3 minutes. You can dehydrate for 3 minutes at once, but this will inevitably cause wrinkles. If you want to prevent wrinkles, stop the dehydration every minute, adjust the shape, and then dehydrate again. This will prevent wrinkles and give you a neater finish.

8. Adjust the shape and hang to dry

If you adjust the shape of the garment before hanging it out to dry, it will dry nicely. Hang your jacket on a wide hanger that matches the width and thickness of your shoulders. This will help restore the shape of your shoulders. The trick to drying quickly is to open all zippers and buttons to ensure ventilation. You can also dry it in the bathroom dryer. If it smells strange after washing, it's a sign that it's not completely dry. You can get rid of the smell by adjusting the shape and hanging it out to dry again.

- POINT -

- Once the colour has faded, it cannot be restored by washing, so it is important to remove any seasonal stains within the season to avoid leaving the stain and causing the colour to fade.
・It's fine to spray deodorant on the clothes, but you might be concerned about the ingredients remaining on the fabric. In fact, most of the smell of cigarettes and grilled meat can be removed by simply hanging the clothes outside and letting them air out.
・If you notice mold growing on your jacket when you try to wear it, don't throw it away yet. If the mold is white and only on the surface, you can wash it as described here. Moisture causes mold, so be sure to dry it thoroughly after washing. If it's black mold, it's difficult to wash at home, so we recommend leaving it to the professionals.

As you can see, in order to be able to wear your denim set comfortably again next season, it is essential to take care of it at the end of the season. You can easily wash it at home, so please give it a try.
